Comfort music

Recently, on his About Last Night blog, Terry Teachout shared about a friend who, during chemotherapy treatment, could only bear to listen to Louis Armstrong and the Goldberg Variations. Terry then asked his readers:

What music do you listen to when the world is way, way too much with you?

For me, four CD’s come to mind:

Beethoven’s Piano Sonata No. 32 in C minor, Op. 111
Nora Jones’ Come Away With Me
Amy Correia’s Carnival Love
Coldplay’s A Rush of Blood to the Head

What about you? What music do you turn to for solace?

  1. Enya (could I get any less original??? ^-^), See Saw, the theme for Harry Potter, the Serendipity soundtrack, The Music of the Night from The Phantom of the Opera, The Hours soundtrack. Okay, before I take up too much more space I’ll stop. ^_^~Ikuni~
