My own personal film festival

A number of bloggers are at the Toronto Film Festival this week–girish, Film Journey, Long Pauses, [daily dose of imagery] (who it looks like will be chronicling the event in photos).

Instead of just envying them, I’ve decided to have my own private festival and watch movies I’ve taped to see “soon” but instead have been sitting for ages in one of the many stacks of videos in our entertainment center.

I am going to simply make the time for this (the laundry can wait a few more days). On my list:

The Third Man
Chinatown
Adaptation
Frankenstein, Bride of Frankenstein, and Young Frankenstein (I’ve been wanting to watch these ever since I read the book in January)

I’d also like to include a foreign film, but I don't have any taped that I haven't already seen (and I can't really afford to rent anything, right now). I’ve been meaning to rewatch Babette‘s Feast, though. I'm adding it to the list.
