Rachmaninov had big hands

“The more I live, the more I think that humor is the saving sense.” ~Jacob August Riis

I was bemoaning on a music forum that since my hands are small I can’t play all the notes in certain big chords, like the ones at the end of Rachmaninoff’s “Prelude in C sharp minor,” and a fellow forum member directed me to this hilarious video by the duo, Igudesman and Joo.

  1. Hysterical!! I have the same problem with Ravel. . .I never thought of getting an assistant! “Only hands are small. . .”

  2. I had seen this before, but the laughs don’t end no matter how many times I watch it. It takes a real comic knack to come up with something like this.
