Writing is easy. All you do is stare at a blank sheet of paper until drops of blood form on your forehead. ~Gene Fowler

Novel tagged me for a difficult meme. Name 5 of your strengths as a writer/artist. Now, I could easily name 5 weaknesses! Strengths, though. I'm not so good at seeing those. But, here goes…

  1. I write truthfully.
  2. Also cleanly.
  3. Girish once said I wrote with cinematic detail. I think that's how he put it. It's positive, anyway, so I'm including it.
  4. I have a good ear. I know when something "sounds right."
  5. Couldn't think of another so I asked Ikuni. She said one of my strengths is that I write with strong emotion but avoid being overly sentimental.

And I don't usually tag people, but this time I'm going to. I'm tagging:

Patry Francis
Sojourness
Colleen
The Cerebral Mum

  1. Thanks for choosing me, though this sounds like a bit of a tough one. Lately, Gene Fowler’s quote has felt all too accurate.

  3. I like this one. I’ll let and brew and see what pours out. Got something I’m working on for tomorrow. Maybe Tuesday. I see at least one of yours that I may have to use.

  5. That is a hard one. Ask any woman to describe her strengths, her beauty, her favorite things about herself, and you’re asking her to navigate in unfamiliar territory! You did quite well on that one, musing!

  7. You do write with strong emotion, but with such spare decoration and that is why your writing is so powerful.

  9. Ah, so it was you who indirectly led to cerebralmum tagging me! And your perfect post award for one of her blogs is what led me to find you today!
Ta for visiting my blog too … and I think Elizabeth Goudge’s A City of Bells is second only to The Little White Horse. Both have been on my bookshelf for many years, along with Gentian Hill and The Herb of Grace.
